This presentation provides a practical overview of disability, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and reasonable accommodation in the workplace. Participants will examine major models of disability, learn how the accommodation process operates in an employment context, and develop questions that support effective accommodation planning. The presentation also highlights best practices for engaging in the interactive process and concludes with emerging trends shaping disability inclusion and employment.

About Our Presenter: Josef Mogharreban, PhD, CRC:

Josef completed a doctoral degree in Rehabilitation Science at the University of Washington in 2018. He has nearly 20 years of experience in advocating for individuals with disabilities at non-profit organizations, state agencies, and higher education institutions.Josef has held positions directing disability services and working in rehabilitation counseling for several organizations, including the California Department of Rehabilitation, Colorado's Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, and the University of Washington's Access Technology Center. Additionally, he has teaching experience at Northern Illinois University, the University of Washington, and Western Washington University, and currently serves as Director of the Disability Access Center and Deputy ADA Coordinator for Western Washington University. Josef received a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master of Science degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Northern Illinois University.
