"Managing Power Dynamics and Power Balancing in the Workplace"

Date/Time: Thursday January 9th  | 11:30am - 1:00pm

Location: Holiday Inn & Suites (Airport) | 4260 Mitchell Way

Tickets on Sale: December 6th - January 2nd

What We'll Cover:

The workplace is full of power dynamics. How people use or maybe misuse their sources of power are the (not so) hidden forces that influence working relationships, workplace culture and organizational performance. We will explore ways to empower and balance power as well as provide tools and language to use so that power can be leveraged and balanced in meaningful and respectful ways.

    Learning Objectives:

    • Recognize the various sources of power present in working relationships.
    • Learn techniques to manage power plays that can contribute to burnout, disengagement, and just feeling like others are just trying to pull your strings.
    • Explore methods to balance letting others have their say and not getting stepped on.

    About Our Presenter:  Carol Bowser

Carol Bowser, JD, is the founder and President of Conflict Management Strategies, Inc. She is mediator, trainer, facilitator, and coach who is an expert in the anatomy of workplace conflict. She holds conflict in high-esteem because she knows that when there is conflict, something important is happening - and it’s worth paying attention. Carol knows how to identify what creates conflict, what sustains it, and then how to resolve it in a lasting way. Despite being a mediator, Carol hates arguments…and despite that, she has the ability to support those who are sitting in the fire by bringing her particular lens to the intricate relations between facts and feelings so conflicts can be fully resolved.
